NirvanaNIRVANA - Live At Reading

For the first time the full live set by the legendary Nirvana (as shot at the Reading Festival on 30 August 1992) is available on DVD, colour-graded and remastered in 5.1 surround sound. The raw, sometimes unhinged performance of the 25 tracks is pure Nirvana, with Cobain, Grohl and Novoselic tearing through songs like Breed, Aneurysm, Sliver, In Bloom, Drain You, School, Tourette's, Lounge Act, On A Plain, Negative Creep, Come As You Are, Blew, Spank Thru, Love Buzz, Territorial Pissings, Lithium, About A Girl, Polly, Been A Son, All Apologies, Dumb, covers D-7 (The Wipers) and The Money Will Roll Right In (Fang), and the one the audience screams for, Smells Like Teen Spirit - but (because of the song's astronomic popularity and their uncomfortable stance on fame and all it stands for) gets deliberately screwed up, with them starting it off as Boston's More Than A Feeling(!) and bits of the song messed up. What is the most incredible to me is that this show is almost two decades old! Within that time a new generation was born and grew up, many unaware of Nirvana, Cobain's suicide and the impact the Grunge movement had on rock music...If you're still not convinced, perhaps the fact that Kerrang! Magazine voted this #1 on their “100 shows that shook the world” may change your mind.Unfortunately there are no extra features like documentaries around either the band at this climactic point in their success, or the Reading Festival itself.
